And speaking of the world........Our dear Ms. P is back!

Dear Loyal Readers….

I owe you all a most humble apology, I’ve been absent without official leave and really should be reprimanded for deserting y’all without a bye or leave. In my own defense I haven’t been lounging in the sun drinking pina coladas, the boss has had me gallivanting around some of the many music festivals Europe have on offer thru the summer each year......

This should be a great round. Chock full of great writers and singers. Steven recently won the Grand Prize in the Amber Rhodes Songwriting Contest for his song, Taken Man, (co-written with Jo Clark). He'll be playing Taken Man and a bunch of other cool songs, and also debuting a few songs he and I recently wrote together. Rob Wolf is a madman wizard songwriting genius who dares to be different in this cookie cutter town. He is a heck of an entertainer too. SAD NEWS FOR MUSICIANS AND GUITAR FANS THE WORLD OVER
As the music world mourns the untimely loss of guitar and rock legend Jerry Cole, whose most famous work perhaps was with the group
THE CHAMPS
of hit song "TEQUILA"
still today is playing on radio stations in over 100 countries.
Our thoughts and prayers go to Jerry Cole's family and friends and in particular " Burnin' Mike Vernon ", Jerry's creative and stage partner for decades and a trail-blazing innovator of guitar himself- who kindly gave us permission to run this story.
(
Also our thanks to my friend David Shriver who called me the day following Jerry Cole's passing and directed me to Jerry Cole's website)

BRITTNEY
ELIZABETH

Brittney has come along at a time when it seems all the new pop stars are safely following a trend of playing and singing the music that is " custom written " for them. A songwriter, musician exquisite vocalist and stage performer, Brittney Elizabeth bursts on to the scene without the need of smoke, mirrors and other trusted tools of marketing and hype. She sings. She makes you think and makes you feel about the basic but most important dimension of life's' check out her MySpace page where you can hear the soon to be mega hit " THE LAST SONG FOR YOU " and the equally chart bound " LOS ANGELES WITH OPEN experiences- LOVE! When everyone wants to scream out at the world about not having enough or how everything seems so unfair, we must remember that without love there is nothing else worth preserving or fighting for. OUR CORRESPONDENT FIRELYN RECOVERING FROM SURGERY

Firelyn, also known as Toni
is recovering from surgery this week. Firelyn has been building up her health in preparation for a kidney transplant but was recently alerted when her doctors found a growth on a non-functioning kidney. Upon the discovery it was determined that surgical removal of the kidney was  necessary. Although a bit of a setback for the scheduled kidney transplant which was to take place this mid summer, Firelyn has a positive attitude and work ethic and probably can't wait to get back to completing an amazing story concerning the history of punk rock.
I have known Firelyn for many years. In fact, when she was a baby she used to sit in my guitar case and sing songs with me,for she is my first daughter and I love her dearly. Thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts and prayers for Toni. She is a very special, kind and talented Lady.
